Graybar Breaks Ground on Tucson LEED Certified Facility

Graybar, a leading distributor of electrical, communications, and data networking products and a provider of supply chain management and logistics services, broke ground on a new Tucson facility in September 2011. The new Tucson operations center will open at 3760 E Tennessee Street.

The 55,000 square-foot facility is being built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) specifications. The building will feature many green technologies that the company distributes to its own customers including solar panels, energy-efficient lighting, and daylight harvesting dimming systems. It will also feature an electric vehicle charging station. The building is scheduled to open in April, 2012. The Tucson facility will be the company’s first LEED certified building.

Larry Giglio, Graybar’s senior vice president of operations, stated, “This facility will not only showcase sustainable solutions but will also demonstrate Graybar’s commitment to preserving the environment.”

Graybar is a Fortune 500 company and is one of the largest employee-owned companies in North America.
