City of Sierra Vista

Northrop Grumman Corporate Lead Executive Steve Pedigo summarizes the company's Sierra Vista operations
Sierra Vista is a thriving community of approximately 46,000 residents located 75 miles southeast of Tucson and serves as the commercial center of Cochise County.  At an elevation of 4,600 feet, and surrounded by the Huachuca, Dragoon and Mule Mountains, Sierra Vista boasts magnificent views, a year round temperate climate, abundant sunshine and clean, fresh air.

The history of Sierra Vista began with the establishment of Fort Huachuca in 1877.  As a camp, and later a fort, the post was the home base of the famed “Buffalo Soldier” of the 9th and 10th Cavalry, U.S. Army.

Today Fort Huachuca is one of Southern Arizona’s largest employers and the site for the development and testing of some of the world’s most advanced technologies. It’s home to the U.S. Army Intelligence Center and the U.S.
Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM)/9th Army Signal Command, and headquarters of the Army Military Affiliate Radio System (MARS), Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and  Electronic Proving Ground (EPG).  Many of the country’s major defense contractors are located in Sierra Vista including Northrop Grumman, Lockheed, General Dynamics and others in support of Fort Huachuca’s vital missions.
