NRG Solar Plans 25MW Avra Valley Facility
NRG Energy has announced its plans to build a 25 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility in Avra Valley, just west of Tucson. Built under the wholly-owned subsidiary NRG Solar, has entered a 20-year agreement with Tucson Electric Power company to purchase the electricity generated by the new plant.
The project will sit on approximately 300 acres, and will create around 300 construction jobs until its completion in 2012.
