Job Market

Tucson is home to a diverse, educated and enthusiastic workforce. Located in one of America's youngest states, over half of Pima County's population is in the prime working age range of 18 to 54. The civilian labor pool approaches 450,000 people representing several ethnicities.

Tucson's job base is thriving. Emerging manufacturing and high-tech industries are creating more jobs and opportunities every day. Such an enhanced environment attracts Tucson's growing class of professionals, white-collar workers and "cultural creatives."

Today it is estimated there are more than 1,200 high-tech businesses employing 50,000 people, and growth in high-tech and "clean" manufacturing continues. This represents just one of the trends that will positively affect the Tucson region's workforce by educating current inhabitants and training an influx of new young, educated workers.

Growth in the job market also continues in a wide range of sectors from leisure and hospitality to retail.

There are county
services that exist to help place individuals who are new to the region or seeking new employment. Pima County's One-Stop Career Center provides easy access to a range of private, public, and nonprofit partners who have expertise regarding employment services.

The Temp Connection is a local employment agency committed to providing both clients and employees with the best and most mutually satisfying employment experience, whether you are looking for a job, a career, or temporary or permanent employees.
