Blueprint Mobilization - 2007 Milestones
In July, TREO announced its Economic Blueprint Mobilization strategy, a detailed and inclusive plan for engaging economic development stakeholders and partner organization experts to develop action plans for the Blueprint's Power of Five. The momentum is building and the foundation now laid for a strong implementation beginning in 2008. To learn more about this Mobilization Plan, click here.
What has happened so far?
Jenkins, Jameson Named Co-chairs of Blueprint Mobilization Plan Daisy Jenkins, VP of Human Resources for Raytheon Missile Systems, and Michael Jameson, President of Tucson Newspapers, have agreed to co-chair this effort and lead the new Mobilization Council in development and communication of action plans in 2008.
More than 35 Organizations Endorse Mobilization Plan TREO has met with and engaged more than 35 organizations, representing thousands of Tucsonans, who will be active partners and experts in leading the community in Educational Excellence, Livable Communities, Urban Renaissance and Collaborative Governance and Stewardship. More organizations are getting involved. The goal of these partnerships is to formally integrate communications and forge strong ties between partner organizations and TREO, to ensure a framework of high communication and common strategies to meet the challenge of global economic competitiveness.

Mobilization Council To Develop Action Plans; 30 Community Leaders and Investors Agree to Serve More than 30 community leaders and TREO Investors -- active supporters of economic development in our region -- now form a new Blueprint Mobilization Council, led by Daisy Jenkins and Mike Jameson. These leaders serve as the voice of TREO's Economic Blueprint within these partner organizations, serving on Board and/or advisory roles, to provide a consistent economic development perspective and help develop effective action plans to achieve the Blueprint goals.
More TREO Investors are signing up every day. In addition, a plan is in place to involve young professionals, the future of our community and a key component of the Blueprint.

TREO Engages UA in Development of Community Report Card, Measures of Progress and Economic Health; To Launch 2008 TREO has now secured UA experts to develop an annual Community Report Card measuring, year to year, how the community is doing in achieving a competitive economy. These report cards, common among highly competitive communities, measure regional progress of indicators of economic health, prosperity and competitiveness. They tell us, based on an agreed set of measures among all of the organizations, whether we are advancing, falling behind or maintaining status quo -- and most importantly, where our opportunities lie ahead. Look for the first baseline Report Card in the second quarter of 2008.
What Has Been Achieved Since the Blueprint Launched?
To be a highly-functioning economy, all of the gears must turn in unison -- High-Skilled/High-Wage Jobs, Livable Communities, Educational Excellence, Urban Renaissance and Collaborative Governance and Stewardship.
