TREO Board of Directors |
As one of the fastest growing communities in the Southwest with a population over one million, local community and business leaders recognized the need for a single, focused economic development effort to ensure sustainable vitality for the region’s future. Consistent with a national trend toward a regional approach to economic development, Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc., or TREO, was formed July 1, 2005 as a private, nonprofit corporation to serve as the lead economic development agency for the greater Tucson area. For true regional representation, TREO has embraced the vital communities of Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita and others as part of its effort to serve as a catalyst for the Tucson region.
TREO is governed by a 15-member board of directors made up of representatives from the private, public and educational sectors.
